Boat Bar was recently refurbished which has made the bar feel much more contemporary, the new lighting and sound systems create a cool vibe.

Club One Seven/ Home Dining Café & Lounge is a popular  restaurant and bar at gay guesthouse serving breakfast from 8am, lunch and dinner. They offer inexpensive Thai and Western food, coffee/tea, ice cream, cocktails. Connect Bar & Restaurant describes itself as a gay “living room” style bar and restaurant with buffet special nights.

My Way is a popular gay go-go dance bar with nightly ladyboy shows.  One of the oldest establishments in the Paradise Complex, My Way brought the cabaret entertainment of Bangkok’s gay scene to Phuket with three great shows every night. It is also a high-quality go-go bar. The outside terrace is a good place to enjoy a few drinks and cool down between shows, as well as helping to make it one of the more popular venues in the area, attracting a mixed crowd.

Yes! Bar is popular with hot gogo shows and cabaret. Sundowners is a large complex consisting of a guesthouse and bistro on one side of the road and a two-storey bar on the other.. The upper floor has a terrace – making it a great people-watching perch.

OK karaoke and beer bar, it is particularly popular with Asian visitors and locals, though they welcome any visitors who want to try their hand at some singing. As with most karaoke places, it has a friendly and light-hearted atmosphere and is a good place to hang out with friends and meet new people.

Phuket has one of the most developed gay cruising scenes in the world. The southern end of Nai Harn Beach, King Rama IX Park, and Ocean Shopping Centre are the most popular outdoor gay cruising spots.

Aquarius Sauna & TARA Sauna are the two main gay saunas of Phuket. Aquarius is located in Paradise Complex in Patong and caters mainly to tourists. The other, Tara sauna is in Phuket town and serves mainly a local crowd.

Attitudes towards “gay-for-pay” and escorts is much more relaxed in Phuket. Many of the “hosts” in the bar are working boys. If you strike up a conversation, be aware that you will be expected to tip for their time and/or buy a drink. If you are looking for something more, be specific to avoid confusion later on (many of the guys are gay-for-pay) and agree on your price up front. Finally, don’t just assume that all the boys are available to hire. Hosting is a legitimate way for guys to earn money on the island, so please be respectful.
